Before The Gold Rush is a fortnightly live music event in London featuring the best emerging artists within, but not strictly confined to, the genres of folk and americana.

Their larger nights are usually on the last Friday or Saturday of the month. You can expect to hear four fantastic acts, from solo artists through to full electric bands.

Their stripped-back nights on Wednesdays are a more intimate affair, mainly featuring acoustic singer-songwriters and duos. Fantastic food is served at these nights.

Between acts you can expect to hear music from the likes of Neil Young, Bob Dylan, The Band, Richard Thompson, John Martyn, Bert Jansch, The Byrds, Gram Parsons, The Buffalo Springfield, CSNY, Nick Drake, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span, Fleet Foxes, & many more.

BTGR was born in April 2012. They have hosted events throughout London at venues including The Sebright Arms, The Fiddler’s Elbow, The Wilmington Arms, The Gallery Cafe, The Harrison, The Slaughtered Lamb, The Amersham Arms, and The Haberdashery.

Check out our past nights, photos, and videos (below) to get more of a feel of what the night looks and sounds like!
