Life's Too Short - Ben Smith & Jimmy Brewer

Our LCM featured artists today are a fast rising UK Americana and Folk duo with some very good songwriting, harmonies and acoustic guitar playing in their DNA. We had the huge pleasure of having Ben Smith and Jimmy Brewer play for us at the historic St. Pancras Old Church last year in April. where they released their debut EP. Our LCM #TrackOfTheDay is a wonderful live version of 'Life's Too Short' taken from a recent 'Under The Apple Tree' session with Bob Harris.

Ben & Jimmy have only recently come together after both meeting on a Joan Armatrading UK tour in 2015. After originally getting together to write some songs, they decided to go out and play some shows too They are both very good singer-songwriter in their own right, so this new duo is a very exciting and interesting collaboration.

Ben Smith is a singer-songwriter and guitarist from Cambridge. His style and music is influenced by the greats of the blues, funk, folk and beyond. He has supported supported the great Joan Armatrading on her two most recent tours, as well as Robert Cray, Jon Gomm, Matt Schofield, Wilko Johnson, Royal Southern Brotherhood, Stefan Grossman and Ian McCullogh. He has also recently shared the bill with Gordon Giltrap, John Etheridge, Paul Brett, Gareth Pearson and 'Tubular Bells' producer Tom Newman.

Jimmy Brewer is a singer-songwriter originally from Lincolnshire. Since releasing his debut album ‘As Time Stands Still’ in 2013 Jimmy has relentlessly toured solo around the country. Recently he has been on tour supporting Joan Armatrading including sets at the Barbican in London as well as several high profile theatres around the UK. He is now heading out on the road on his own in preparation for the release of his second album.

They have also recently we've launched their Pledge Music campaign to fund their trip to showcase at AmericanaFest: The 2017 Americana Music Festival & Conference in Nashville. We've have lots of goodies on offers to pledgers, take a look at the link below
