REDWOOD MUSIC PHOTOGRAPHY
Owner: Rob Bridge
Location: Nuneaton, Warwickshire
Hi, I’m Rob. I’m guessing there’s a good chance you love music. If so then we have something in common because I love it too. But you know what? As I’ve got older and having spent a lifetime being around musicians, I’ve realised that as much as I love music I’m even more fascinated by the people who make it.
Because people who make music….well, they do something that’s seriously cool. They create sounds that move people. They can make you feel a different way about yourself and the world around you, even if it’s for just a few minutes.
So now I devote my time to documenting musicians…I photograph musicians, film musicians and write about musicians. I’m interested in the people behind the sounds.
What makes a person want to make music? What drives them? Who or what inspires them? What’s their creative process? What’s the difference between someone who writes a song that a few people like, and someone that can write songs that thousands of people like? What do they dream about….and what are they afraid of?
That’s what I’m interested in and that’s what Redwood is all about.
I feel lucky and fortunate to have met and photographed some wonderful and amazingly creative musicians…
I tend to photograph, film, interview and write about acoustic, folk, roots type artists. That wasn’t really by design, it just kind of happened that way. But I like the way it’s happened because I love that type of music. Maybe it wasn’t an accident…
“…that was a very fun interview/photo shoot. @redwoodphotos is one great man.” – Andy, Warwickshire
“…Photos look superb!” – Stu, Cambridgeshire
“…Thanks so much for all your hard work, they’re the best photos we’ve ever had!!!’ – Victoria, Cambridgeshire
“Rob is able to get the best from every artist….” – Helen, Hertfordshire.
“Rob is such a great guy to work with. He encourages you but also tells you exactly what he wants from you to make each shot work.” – Steve, Coventry.
As well as photographing people for this site, I write and photograph for Folk Radio UK– the biggest and best folk, roots and Americana site in the country. I also, with a couple of friends, have a lot of fun filming something called The Big Comfy Sessions. Check it out!
What genuinely amazes me is the thousands of people that come and read the interviews…thank you so much, it’s lovely and just a little bit humbling.
If you like the site, stick your email address to our mailing list and I’ll keep you updated…I’d love to have you on board. And if there’s someone you think I should be photographing and talking to, drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org
