Adam Sweet is blues, rock and roots singer-songwriter and superb guitarist from the South West of England. Adam’s critically acclaimed debut album ‘Small Town Thinking’ was released on independent East Devon label NEO Music at the beginning of 2014. With his acoustic guitar providing the foundation Adam and producer Alan West built the album from their Devon studio, calling on Alan’s long time friend and Nashville based producer Thomm Jutz to add a little extra magic in the form of some of Music City’s finest session players. The album steadily gathered critical acclaim throughout 2014 in the music press and received national and international radio play. Adam was featured in Classic Rock’s Blues Magazine as ‘One to Watch’ for 2014, and the rave reviews of the album included a full 5 star rating and ‘Album of the Month’ in Guitar Technique Magazine’s July 2014 edition, praising the album for offering a “whole new perspective on the (blues) genre”. Adam is currently writing the follow up to his debut album, working again with award winning stalwart singer-songwriter Steve Black – a collaboration that proved so successful on the first album.  His new 'Take Your Time EP' provides an excellent early taster of the new music to come. The EP presents some of his latest material in a stripped back acoustic format which closer resembles Adam's one-man shows. Produced and performed solely by Adam, it also feature material co-written with principal songwriter and founder member of Level 42, Boon Gould.

"This EP was recorded in my own space and in my own time. I believe 'Take Your Time' is an honest account of where I am right now....I hope you enjoy it!" Adam

The bluesy and americana infused 'Move On' opens the excellent EP. It's a co-write with Level 42's Boon Gould. Invoking the scene of a dusty desert town in America's Midwest. A break-up song and with a the encouragement to not count the cost and to explore pastures new. The first of three co-written songs with the great Steve Black, 'Albertine' is another bluesy rock track. I love the underlying Fender Stratocaster melodies. Marvellous stuff. With it's very catchy 'earworm' Hofner Resonator guitar riff 'New Friend' is one of my favourite songs on the EP. I had this one in my head for days...you have been warned!....another Adam and 'Blackie' masterpiece.

'These Days' is the only cover on the EP. A wonderful crisp new version of a Jackson Browne classic first released in 1973 on his 'For Everyman' album. Jackson wrote the song at age 16 and its lyrics deal with loss and regret. Some lovely interplay between Adam's Gibson Hummingbird and Hofner Resonator. The EP closes with the title track 'Take Your Time' a very fitting conclusion to some wonderful rock, blues and roots guitar and very classy arrangements. If Adam continues with this quality of workmanship, then his new second album will be very special indeed.
