Tennessee Whiskey - Amy Westney
For our next LCM featured artist and #TrackOfTheDay today we stay close to home. Essex's very own UK Country Singer-Songwriter Amy Westney, with a super a cappella cover of Chris Stapleton's 'Tennessee Whiskey' from a recent live Oak Session.
Country music is a genre held together by storytelling and when it comes to her songwriting and performance Amy Westney is well known for doing just that. Knowing how to bring a wave of emotion through the audience with every line is something Amy can deliver every time.
With her debut single released on 26 September 2016 and her eagerly anticipated debut EP planned for the beginning of 2017 the interest is already growing. She has also teamed up with an incredible roster of musicians, artists, producers and engineers from both the UK and Nashville for the project and is extremely excited to share the final product..
During her career she has had the privilege of opening up for some of the biggest names in Country music including; Taylor Swift, Dolly Parton and The Dixie Chicks. Back in 2012 she also had a song cut on a short demo album given to her by Michael Britt of the hit band Lonestar. Her outlook, personality and eagerness to succeed in the industry have opened many doors for Amy and allowed her to create a strong network in Nashville including people such as; Matraca Berg, Keith Burns and Heidi Newfield of Trick Pony, Hayley Whitters, Jenn Bostic, Clint Daniels, Travis Meadows, Buck Johnson of Aerosmith, Lucie Silvas, Bernie Nelson and many more.
Travelling out to Nashville, Tennessee each year keeps her mind fresh with the sound coming out of Music City and brings in a true authentic old school sound, unique to the UK market. With current artists such as Carrie Underwood, Ashley Monroe, Kacey Musgraves and Maren Morris influencing Amy's music she certainly has a lot to offer.
