For our LCM featured artist and #trackoftheday we have almost the perfect Sunday afternoon music for you. We have been a fan of this next lady for a while now and we think she has a super vocal. Sarah Joyce is better known by her stage name Rumer and we love this live cover of the classic Hall & Oates 'Sara Smile'. The song is part of her wonderful 2nd album 'Boys Don't Cry'.
Rumer is releasing her new album 'This Girl's In Love: a Bacharach andDavid Songbook' on 21st October. Highly recommended by us of us here at LCM HQ.
Rumer is an award winning British pop singer songwriter whose hit debut album 'Seasons of My Soul' (2010) sold over a million copies worldwide. Since then she has released 'Boy's Don't Cry' (2012), where she did justice to some of pop’s finest melodists, including Todd Rundgren, Hall & Oates, Jimmy Webb, Paul Williams and Isaac Hayes. Her last album 'Into Colour' (2014) saw Rumer’s return as a songwriter.
Rumer, who has been called “heir to Dusty Springfield and Karen Carpenter” by Q Magazine, has earned raves for her live shows across the globe. Rumer has already dazzled audiences in England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Amsterdam, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland as well as Japan and the USA. Rumer's success has seen her perform for President Barack Obama at the White House, as well as HM The Queen at Buckingham Palace.
Now she is bringing her skills and experience to bear on her most enticing undertaking to date, This Girl’s in Love: A Bacharach & David Songbook, a collaboration between Rumer and her musical (and life) partner: feted arranger, composer, multi-instrumentalist and orchestrator, Rob Shirakbari.
